Responsibilities and Services: Provides
on-the-job and occupational skills training for unemployed and
under-employed Oswego County residents. The agency administers a variety
of programs funded by the federal Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA),
Economic Dislocated Worker Assistance Act (EDWAA) and grants from New York
State and the local and state Department of Social Services.

Responsibilities and Services: Conducts training
programs in the different techniques of fire fighting for volunteer fire
fighters in the county. Training programs are conducted at fire stations
in the county. Coordinates mutual aid services and serves as liaison
between county government and the Fire Advisory Board, County Chief's
Association, Firemen's Association, Fire Police Association, HazMat Team,
Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team, and Rope Rescue Team. Conducts cause
and origin investigations for local fire departments. Conducts the Fire

Responsibilities and Services: Accepts applications
for employment and/or civil service examinations for Oswego County.
Administers employee benefit plans, labor relations and civil service
regulations for County employees. Also responsible for civil service
administration for towns, villages and school districts in Oswego County.
Cities of Fulton and Oswego (Departments and Schools) are excluded.
Responsibilities and Services: Probation
is a service provider within the county's community corrections system
responsible for four major services (1) Conducting pre- sentence and
pre-dispositional investigations for all courts in Oswego County,(2)
Supervising persons sentenced by the courts to a period of probation and
persons released from the Oswego County Jail by the local conditional
release program, (3) Attempting resolution or out-of-court adjustment of
numerous family related problems (intake), (4) Collecting and disbursing
restitution monies for crime victims. Probation personnel work to balance
two major concerns : the behavior of the individual and the safety of the
community.
