Voter Registration Deadline Nears for Presidential Primary Election

The Oswego County Board of Elections is reminding people who wish to vote in the March 2 Democratic Presidential Primary that they need to register to vote if they haven't already done so.

Mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by midnight Friday, Feb. 6, to be valid for the upcoming primary election. Residents may register in person at the County Board of Elections until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Voter registration forms are available at the Board of Elections in the County Office Building, 46 E. Bridge St., Oswego, and on the Oswego County web site at www.oswegocounty.com, as well as at many post offices, libraries, and state agency offices.

People who have moved from one county to another need to re-register from their new address. Registered voters who have moved within Oswego County should notify the Board of Elections in writing of their move. All new voters registering by mail must provide a copy of their driver's license or Social Security card if they don't have a driver's license.

For more information on registering to vote, call the Board of Elections at 349-8350 or 349-8351, or 1-800-596-3200, ext. 3450 or ext. 3451.
