HARLEY OWNERS GROUP® KICKS OFF GREAT LAKES: ONTARIO TOUR
Harley-Davidson® Enthusiasts to Visit Oswego
OSWEGO - More than a thousand Harley Owners Group (HOG) members will come together in central New York for four full days of scenic motorcycling, Harley-Davidson camaraderie and celebration during the HOG Great Lakes: Ontario Tour, Monday, June 21 through Thursday, June 24.
The rally, headquartered in Rochester, N.Y., starts with an opening-day dinner and riders' meeting on Monday, June 21. Many other activities await the enthusiasts, such as a street party and many miles of self-guided riding tours throughout central New York, with stops at museums and historical attractions, as well as state and national parks.
Riders will experience some of the most beautiful scenery that New York has to offer on the self-guided tours, including the historic Seaway Trail, a National Scenic Byway which passes through Oswego, Seneca Falls, the Finger Lakes Region, and the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls.
Oswego is the riders' first destination on the tour. They are expected to visit Oswego Tuesday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Group members will be travelling separately, starting at different times. While in Oswego, riders are scheduled to visit Fort Ontario State Historic Site, the Safe Haven Museum and Education Center, and the H. Lee White Marine Museum.
"This event will help to generate tourism dollars to the area's attractions, shops, and restaurants," said Christine Gray, director of the Oswego County Promotion and Tourism Department.
"The Chamber has collaborated with the Harley Owners Group to promote our members to their members," said Jennifer Hill, executive director of the Greater Oswego Chamber of Commerce. An official "HOG on Tour" poster will be made available to any chamber member willing to offer substantial discounts to registered participants of the tour.
