County Tourism Department Offers Free Publicity for Winter Events
Although winter is still months away, the Oswego County Department of Promotion and Tourism has begun to compile information for its "Winter in Oswego County" events brochure. The brochure is a comprehensive list of activities and events that take place between Nov. 1, 2004 and March 31, 2005.
The Oswego County Promotion and Tourism Department distributes the brochure free of charge through outdoor sports shows, travel and vacation shows, New York State Thruway and Gateway information centers, chambers of commerce, and by mail. Listings are also posted on the Oswego County Website at www.oswegocounty.com.
"This is an excellent opportunity for community groups and organizations in Oswego County to get free publicity for the special events they are sponsoring this winter," said Christine Gray, director of the Oswego County Department of Promotion and Tourism. "The publication includes information on seasonal attractions and activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice skating, dog sledding, and more."
Information should be submitted to the department by Monday, Aug. 23.
Forms have been mailed to clubs and organizations that have submitted information in the past. Entry forms may also be downloaded from the Oswego County Web site at www.oswegocounty.com.
