County Offers Advanced EMT Training Course
The Oswego County Emergency Medical Services Program will offer the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician intermediate training course Monday and Thursday evenings, Sept. 27 through Jan. 20.
The course provides 105 hours of instruction. It combines a review of basic EMT knowledge and skills with extensive instruction in IV, intubation and defibrillation. Each student will also complete at least 50 hours of clinical time and 50 hours of field internship with advanced life support providers.
Classes will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Joint News Center at the Oswego County Airport, Volney. Students must have a current EMT card, certificate of insurance coverage, and be affiliated with an ambulance corps or fire department.
