County Route 4 Re-Opens In Scriba and Volney
SCRIBA - The section of county Route 4 between O'Connor Road in the Town of Scriba and Mud Lake Road in the Town of Volney was re-opened to traffic Friday. The road was closed last year by the Oswego County Department of Public Works after a section of the road sank and a hole developed in it.
County Public Works Superintendent Donald Morey said the reconstruction involved several projects. The section of highway across the muck land was sheet-piled with steel, a new bridge was installed over Swamp Creek, and the highway was re-surfaced from Silk Road to Mud Lake Road as part of this project.
