Challenge Course Training Set for May 21 and 22 at Camp Hollis

OSWEGO -- The Oswego County Division of Parks and Recreation will offer a challenge course facilitator training program May 21 and 22 at Camp Hollis. The program is designed for people who want to lead group team building and challenge course exercises in school and recreation settings.

The class will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days.

"Participants in this training will learn teaching techniques on how to use a challenge course for team building and group facilitation," said Jim Farfaglia, senior youth services specialist for the youth bureau. "All participants who complete the course will receive a certificate stating they have completed training as a challenge course leader."

The training is offered through Indian Mountain Adventures, Inc. of Lakeville, Conn. The agency installs, inspects and trains staff for challenge course programs throughout the northeast.

The cost of the class is $75. The class is limited to 14 participants, age 15 and older.

Camp Hollis is a residential camp facility owned and operated by Oswego County. The camp is located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the Town of Oswego. For more information or to register, call Jim Farfaglia at the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, phone 349-3451or 1-800-596-3200, ext. 3451.
