Camp Hollis Holds Special Week for 13-Year-Olds
OSWEGO - Becoming a teenager is a rite of passage that deserves special recognition. The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau has set aside the week of July 31 to Aug. 5 to give 13-year-olds a unique summer camp experience at Camp Hollis.
The camp will combine traditional summer camp activities, such as swimming, arts and crafts, hiking and sports, with special projects in wilderness camping, designing and printing a newspaper, and creating, costuming and acting in a theatrical play. Youths may choose the specific area of interest they would like to be involved in.
The program is open to all 13-year-old girls and boys in Oswego County. Youth may not turn 14 before Aug. 31. Registration is charged on a sliding scale that is based on family income. Full and partial scholarships are available.
Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. The camp is located on Lake Ontario in the Town of Oswego.
