Oswego County Tipping Fee Stickers Will Expire Jan. 31
Oswego County residents are reminded that the gray tipping fee stickers issued last year by the Oswego County Division of Solid Waste will expire Tuesday, Jan. 31.
New tipping fee stickers will be available for purchase at the transfer stations beginning Jan. 17. The new stickers are blue in color and will expire Jan. 31, 2007.
Stickers purchased between January and the end of July cost $75. Stickers purchased on or after Aug. 1 will cost $37.50. Stickers for additional household vehicles will be available for $5 each. Checks should be made out to "Oswego County Solid Waste."
Residents buying a solid waste sticker need to show proof of Oswego County residency and have their vehicle and vehicle registration with them at the time of purchase. The vehicle registration must show the purchaser's household address. Post office box addresses and tax or deed receipts, without additional information, are not acceptable proof of residency. Business vehicles, and vehicles that don't have the purchaser's household address on the vehicle registration, won't be issued stickers.
Residential users may purchase a punch card instead of a tipping fee sticker. Each card costs $15 and is good for 20 kitchen-sized 13-gallon trash bags.
Oswego County solid waste transfer stations and recycling drop-off centers are open Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Sticker sales and weigh scale operations end at 4 p.m. weekdays and 11:30 a.m. Saturdays.
