Social Services Department Hosts March 15 Meeting about Foster Parenting
The Oswego County Department of Social Services is looking for people who would like to become foster parents, particularly for sibling groups and older children. Families are especially needed in the Fulton, Hannibal, Central Square and Oswego areas.
People who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents are encouraged to attend an informational meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at the Social Services Department, Spring Street, Mexico. Attendance at the informational meeting is required to enroll in foster parent training.
The 10-week pre-certification training, called “Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting - Group Process Selection,” will be held Wednesday evenings March 22 through May 24. Classes will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Both parents in a two-parent household must attend the training. Single parents may also be certified.
