Reality Check Hosts Battle of the Bands April 21

FULTON -- Oswego County Reality Check will host a “Battle of the Bands” April 21 at the Fulton War Memorial to benefit Camp Hollis, Oswego County’s children’s camp.

Area high school students who are in bands are encouraged to compete.

Reality Check is a statewide youth organization aimed at exposing the manipulative marketing practices that the tobacco industry uses to target teens.

“ ‘We won’t be bought’ is one of Reality Check’s slogans,” said Patsy George, a member of Oswego County Reality Check. “By holding events like these, we are telling big tobacco that we don’t want them to market their products to us.”

For more information, or to sign up for the battle of the bands, contact Katie Ives, Reality Check coordinator at the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, phone 349-3451.
