Kids Can Pick Up Camp Hollis Applications in Local Schools
OSWEGO -- Applications for Camp Hollis have been distributed to all elementary schools in Oswego County. Children age 8 and up may get an application from their teacher or in the main office at their school.
Located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the Town of Oswego, Camp Hollis is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year as Oswego County’s children’s camp. Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.
Children ages 8 to 14 attend camp for a week during the summer, arriving on Sunday and leaving on Friday. They stay in cabins and take part in a variety of activities, including swimming in the pool, nature hikes, arts and crafts, and campfire sing-alongs. Trained counselors and lifeguards supervise camp activities.
Fees to attend camp range from $25 to $150, depending on family income. Full and partial scholarships are available to help families pay for the tuition.
Parents and children can meet the camp staff, tour the grounds, and participate in camp activities at an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 21. Refreshments will be served. No registration is required for the open house.
The Camp Hollis application is also available on Oswego County’s Web site at www.oswegocounty.com/youth/hollis/index.html and by calling the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau at 349-3451 or 1-800-596-3200 ext. 3451.
