Camp Hollis Is Accepting Applications for Campers

OSWEGO TOWN – There are still openings for children who want to enjoy a summer camp experience at Camp Hollis this summer. Eight-year-olds may apply for the camp-over program June 29 and 30. Children between the ages of nine and 14 may apply to spend a week at the camp between July 2 and Aug. 20.

Located on Lakeshore Road near Lake Ontario, Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and administered by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. Trained counselors and lifeguards supervise all camp activities.

Children arrive on Sunday evening and leave on Friday afternoon. They stay in cabins and take part in a variety of traditional summer camp activities, including swimming in the pool, nature hikes, arts and crafts, drama, athletic games, and campfire sing-alongs. There are openings for boys in all age groups.

Fees to attend camp range from $25 to $150, depending on family income. Full and partial scholarships are available to help families pay for the tuition.

The Camp Hollis application is available on Oswego County’s Web site at www.oswegocounty.com/youth/hollis/index.html and by calling the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau at 349-3451 or 1-800-596-3200 ext. 3451.

A group of campers enjoy a game of tetherball at Camp Hollis. Children who live in Oswego County may still apply to spend a week at the camp this summer.
