County Tourism Office Revises Fishing and Hunting Guide
The Oswego County Division of Promotion and Tourism is compiling information for the next revision of “Fishing and Hunting in Oswego County.” The publication is the county’s major marketing piece for anglers and hunters who are looking for information about Oswego County’s fantastic fishing and hunting opportunities.
Fishing and hunting businesses, including charter captains, guides, outdoor suppliers, marinas, taxidermists and preserves will receive a free listing in the guide.
“Anyone who is listed in the guide receives wide exposure through the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning,” said David Turner, director. “We encourage our tourism partners to take advantage of this marketing opportunity.”
Sections of the guide describe fishing hotspots, tips, seasons, marinas, preserves, and other details about Oswego County.
“The publication is distributed at numerous sportsmen’s shows, tourist information centers, chambers of commerce, businesses and attractions,” said Christine Gray, tourism director. “In addition, we include it in the thousands of tourism kits that we distribute through the mail. It’s also posted on the Oswego County Web site.”
Informational forms have been mailed to fishing and hunting businesses and clubs throughout Oswego County. Anyone who hasn’t received a form, who would like to be listed in the guide, should contact the tourism office at 46 E. Bridge St., Oswego, NY 13126; phone 349-8322, or e-mail
