Oswego County Tourism Department Offers Free Publicity for Winter Events
OSWEGO -- The Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning is compiling a list of events and activities to include in its “Winter in Oswego County” brochure.
“The brochure is a comprehensive list of events that will take place between Nov. 1, 2006 and March 31, 2007,” said tourism director Christine Gray. “This is an excellent opportunity for community groups and organizations all over Oswego County to get free publicity for events they are holding this winter.”
The brochure will also include information about local hockey tournaments, places to ice skate, cross-country ski, snowshoe, snowmobile, and fish during the winter months.
David Turner, department director, said the agency will distribute about 13,000 copies of the brochure free of charge through outdoor sports shows, travel and vacation shows, New York State Thruway and Gateway information centers, chambers of commerce, and by mail. The brochure will be posted on the Oswego County Web site at www.oswegocounty.com.
Information should be submitted to the county Tourism Office at 46 E. Bridge St., Oswego by Friday, Sept. 29. Entry forms have been mailed to clubs and organizations that submitted information in the past.
