Camp Hollis Invites Kids and Families to Harvest Celebration Nov. 9
All Oswego County youth and their families are invited to celebrate the end of fall and beginning of winter at the Hollis Harvest Thursday, Nov. 9, at Camp Hollis. This free event will feature games and outdoor activities from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., including pumpkin hunts, nature hikes, a campfire and much more.
Many of the activities will be held outside, so visitors should dress accordingly. There will be a warming station indoors where visitors can enjoy arts and crafts projects and free refreshments. Youth ages 12 and under must have an adult attending the event with them.
If history repeats itself, the Hollis Harvest will be a great time.
“We have had two very successful 'fun days' at Hollis - one in the winter and one in the spring,” said Jim Farfaglia, youth services specialist for the Oswego City - County Youth Bureau. “We thought we'd do the same in the fall on a day when the children are out of school.”
Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau as a residential camp during the summer months for children who live in Oswego County. The facility is available April through October for use by families, clubs, school groups and other organizations.
Camp Hollis is located at 40 Health Camp Road, off Lakeshore Road in the town of Oswego. Those seeking more information may contact the Youth Bureau at 349-3451 or 1-800-596-3200, ext.3451 or by .
