Drug Task Force Announces Two More Arrests

Investigator Jack Doyle, Coordinator of the Oswego County Drug Task Force, announced two more arrests made this week as a result of the task force investigations.

On Jan. 9 at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the drug task force, with assistance from the Oswego County Sheriff's Office, arrested Shawn G. Benishek, 32, of 27 Hadley Road, Sandy Creek.

Benishek's arrest was the result of an investigation into a call to the Oswego County Drug Task Force Drug tip line regarding narcotics sales in the Pulaski and Sandy Creek areas. Benishek was interviewed regarding his potential involvement in the tip line call and it was subsequently found that he had a warrant for his arrest for violation of probation.

Benishek was arrested and transported to the Oswego County Correctional Facility where he was lodged on the probation warrant.

On Jan. 10 at approximately 4:30 p.m. the task force arrested Lori L. Malone, 48, of 161 N. Fifth St., Apartment 2, Fulton, on a felony warrant which was issued out of the Clark County District Attorney's Office in Las Vegas, Nevada. The warrant was issued for drawing and passing a check without sufficient funds in the bank, with intent to defraud, presumption of intent to defraud.

Malone's arrest was the result of a follow-up investigation from the arrest of Christopher Gonzalez on Jan. 5 for criminal possession of a controlled substance. The vehicle that Gonzalez was operating at the time of his arrest was subsequently determined to belong to Malone. A records check revealed that Malone was wanted on the warrant from Clark County.

Malone was arrested and arraigned on a fugitive warrant by the Honorable Richard Burton, Town of Schroeppel Justice, who remanded her to the Oswego County Correctional Facility on no bail pending an extradition hearing.
