Families Invited to Winter Wonderland Feb. 22 at Camp Hollis

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and Reality Check will host “Winter Around the World,” a free outdoor family event at Camp Hollis, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m Thursday, Feb. 22.

The youth bureau staff has organized a variety of games, activities and foods to transport students and their families to countries around the globe. Youth will be given a “passport” and encouraged to visit as many countries as possible throughout the day. They can learn how to yodel like the Swiss, play like the penguins of New Zealand, and sample international foods. There is no admission charge. Donations will be accepted.

There will be a warming station with arts and crafts indoors. Snowshoes are available at Camp Hollis. Families should bring their own sleds for sledding. Hollis Winter Wonderland is an outdoor event, so please dress accordingly.

Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau as a residential camp for children during the summer months. Located at 40 Health Camp Road in the town of Oswego, the facility is available April through October for use by families, clubs, school groups and other organizations.
