Social Services Department Sponsors Orientation Meeting for Future Foster Parents
The Oswego County Department of Social Services is looking for people who would like to become foster families, particularly for children ages 12 and over. Families are especially needed in the Fulton, Hannibal, Central Square and Oswego areas.
There will be an informational meeting for people who are considering foster or adoptive parenting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at the Social Services Department, Spring Street, Mexico. Attendance at the informational meeting is required of people who are considering enrolling in foster parent training.
The 10-week pre-certification training, “Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting - Group Process Selection,” will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays beginning March 22 and ending May 24. Both parents in a two-parent household must attend the training. Single parents are also able to be certified.
