High School Students Invited to Participate in Overnight Bowl-a-thon April 9 - 10

All Oswego County high school students are invited to take part in an overnight bowl-a-thon April 9 and 10 at Lakeview Lanes Bowling Alley in Fulton. Organized by teens from Oswego County's Reality Check and Youth Advisory Council, the event will feature all night and cosmic bowling, the movie "Stomp," a live version of the game show "Deal or No Deal" and other games and activities. The event begins at 10 p.m. Monday, April 9 and ends at 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 10.

All high school students are eligible to participate. Pre-registration is required. Contact the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau at 349-3451 or . The event is limited to 100 people and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Proceeds will be donated to Chrystal Hoyt to help in her fight against ovarian cancer. Every participant must raise a minimum of $20 to attend. Pledge sheets and permission slips will be mailed to those students who pre-register. All checks should be made out to Oswego City Youth Court.

Reality Check is a youth action project made up of teens throughout New York State who object to the tobacco industry's marketing tactics. The Youth Advisory Council consists of high school students around Oswego County who work to develop programs that benefit Oswego County youth. Both programs are administered by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.
