Veterans May Sign Up for New VA Cards April 21 in Fulton

Oswego County veterans may sign up for new health care cards between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Fulton War Memorial.

Donna Kestner, director of the Oswego County Veterans Service Agency, said the federal Veterans Administration will issue new identification cards to those veterans who are already enrolled in the VA health care system. The new cards will not include the individual's social security number.

New veterans who meet the income eligibility guidelines may also sign up during the April 21 session. To be eligible, the maximum annual income for a single veteran with no dependents is $33,300; for one dependent, the maximum income is $38,100; and for two dependents it is $42,850.

Kestner encourages new veterans to make an appointment to determine their eligibility at the Oswego County Veterans Service Agency, County Branch Office Building, 200 N. Second St., Fulton, or at any VA office.

The County Veterans Service Agency also holds office hours in Pulaski from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first and second Thursday of each month at the H. Douglas Barclay Courthouse. To make an appointment, call the Fulton office at 591-9100, or by .
