Teaching Parents How to Take a “Time Out”

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau will host a free parenting class on how parents can learn to use the discipline technique “time out” effectively. The class is scheduled for May 7 and 21 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Youth Bureau office, 70 Bunner St., Oswego.

The workshop is designed as a video discussion and educational program that teaches 20 various methods, skills, and principals for managing the behavior of children from the ages of 2 to 12. The program is based on the “S.O.S. Help for Parents” book written by Lyn Clark, Ph.D. The class will be taught by Dan Reynolds, youth activities coordinator for the Oswego-City Youth Bureau.

To register, contact Reynolds weekdays at the youth bureau, phone 349-3451 or 1-800-596-3200, ext. 3451.
