Oswego County AmeriCorps Is Accepting Applications for Summer Positions
Oswego County residents who are looking for a way to spend the summer helping kids can get paid while learning valuable skills and earn money to go to college by participating in the AmeriCorps Program.
“AmeriCorps is administered by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau,” said Youth Bureau Director Kathleen Fenlon. “Locally, our Oswego County AmeriCorps Program serves the needs of children and families. AmeriCorps provides an opportunity to make a difference in your life and in the lives of those around you.”
Oswego County AmeriCorps is currently accepting applications for 300-hour summer positions at libraries, recreation programs, schools and human service agencies. Applicants must be 17 years of age. There is no upper age limit.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED or be in the process of receiving one. Some sites request additional experience or education.
Summer sites include North Shore Public Library in Constantia, Harborfest, Phoenix Public Library, Pulaski Public Library, Safe Haven Museum in Oswego, Sandy Creek Recreation, Success-By-Six, Town of Parish Recreation and Town of Schroeppel Community Services.
Members will receive a living allowance of $1,937 and an education award of $1,000 at the end of their term of service.
