County Needs Input on Children's Mental Health Services Survey
The Oswego County Department of Social Services is asking citizens to help identify gaps in local mental hygiene services by filling out a short survey. The Mental Hygiene Division is assessing the current needs of county residents for supportive services related to children's mental health. People who live or work in Oswego County are encouraged to complete the survey online or fill out a paper form and return it to the department.
“One of the priorities identified in the County's 2006 three-year Local Mental Health Plan is to increase the capacity of services for children and families in Oswego County,” said Nicole Kolmsee, Director of Community Services for the Oswego County DSS Mental Hygiene Division.
“Many community services carry a wait list. A workgroup of the Community Services Board Mental Health Subcommittee has been charged to assess and make recommendations for how best to apply resources to meet the community's need for Supportive Services related to Children's Mental Health. This survey is an effort of that workgroup.”
The survey is available online through May 31 at www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=443673613833.
No personally identifiable information will be collected.
The three-year local mental health plan is posted on the Oswego County Web site at www.oswegocounty.com/dss/mental.html.
Paper copies are also available by contacting Catholic Charities in Fulton at 598-3980 or Kolmsee by , phone 963-5361.
