![]() May 21, 2007 Animal Services Committee Meeting Scheduled for May 24The Oswego County Animal Services Committee, a sub-committee of the Emergency Management Local Human Needs Committee, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24 in the County Emergency Management Office, County Office Building, 200 N. Second St., Fulton. The Animal Services Committee was formed in June 2002, and works to provide information and resources to the pet owners of Oswego County in the event of a disaster. “It is important to realize that pets as well as their owners need assistance when emergencies occur,” said Connie Tompkins, EMO staff member. “Pet owners often put themselves in danger in order to protect their animals during emergency situations. Having a comprehensive evacuation and housing plan for animals is important for the safety of residents and animals in Oswego County.” The Animal Services Committee is looking for additional members from the community.
