Camp Hollis is Looking for Gardeners
The Oswego County children's camp at Camp Hollis is hosting an Adopt-a-Garden program this summer. The project is designed and sponsored by Oswego County AmeriCorps.
Individuals, families, church groups, school groups and other community groups are encouraged to help plant and maintain the gardens during the 2007 season, from May until September.
“By adopting a garden, you will be agreeing to spend a small amount of time each week caring for that garden, including planting, weeding, watering, or general beautification,” said AmeriCorps member Gina Holsopple. “No previous gardening experience is needed.”
Those who are interested in adopting a garden may contact Holsopple at 591-0711.
Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau as a residential camp for children who live in Oswego County. Located at 40 Health Camp Road in the Town of Oswego, the facility is also available April through October for use by families, clubs, school groups and other organizations.
