Youth Bureau Sponsors Free Tennis Program at Oswego Middle School
The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is offering Oswego students in grades 4 through 9 an opportunity to try their hand at tennis. The program is free, and racquets and balls will be provided.
Every Tuesday and Wednesday during the month of June, students may play tennis from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oswego Middle School tennis courts. Students in grades 4 through 6 will play the first hour and students in grades 7 through 9 will play the second hour.
Sharon Morey, a local tennis player and coach, will assist the students. “This is a great opportunity for students who have never played tennis, or who have played some and want to learn more,” said Morey. “It is also a chance for kids who want to play tennis to hook up with other kids.”
For further information, contact the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau at 349-3451. Students may register by calling the Youth Bureau, or they may go to the program the first week and sign up at the courts.
The program is sponsored by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, Oswego AmeriCorps, and the US Tennis Association.
