Youth Project Will Release CD on June 16
Friends of Camp Hollis and Project X will host the second “Inventing Sound” CD release party at the river's end bookstore in Oswego at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 16.
The “Inventing Sound 2007: Speak Out!” event took place this spring at Camp Hollis in the Town of Oswego. Several Oswego County teens spent two weekends at Camp Hollis, where they created and used instruments from a variety of sources and recorded a CD. The CD is formatted in the style of a radio program, with commercials, music, news clips and a radio drama.
The project was funded by the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program, administered by the Cultural Resources Council. Camp Hollis is a residential children's camp that is owned by Oswego County and administered by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. It is available for public use when camp is not in session.
Project X works with youth to build safe and healthy lifestyles through personal growth, self-expression and positive communication. Contact Project X guides Matt Wood or Gina Holsopple at 402-6159 or by for more information.
