Camp Hollis Hosts Family Fun/Community Service Day
All Oswego County youth, their families and volunteers are invited to come celebrate the autumn season on Monday, Oct. 8 at the Hollis Harvest at Camp Hollis.
This free event will feature games and outdoor activities from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., including sports, nature hikes, crafts, a campfire and much more. Many of the activities at Hollis Harvest will be held outside, so participants should dress accordingly. There will be a warming station indoors where visitors can enjoy refreshments.
Youth ages 12 and under must have an adult attending the event with them. Registration is not required for this free event. Donations to support future “Family Fun Days” are welcome.
Also taking place on this day is a community service event. Anyone from age 15 years and up is welcome to come to the camp and work on projects to keep the camp in good condition. Volunteer jobs include cleaning cabins, painting cabins and general yard maintenance. Volunteers should call ahead of time to join in the community service day.
Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau as a residential camp during the summer months for children who live in Oswego County. The facility is available April through October for use by families, clubs, school groups and other organizations.
