Pre-Thanksgiving Fun Day for Oswego County Youth

Oswego County - Reality Check, the Oswego YMCA and the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau are sponsoring a Pre-Thanksgiving Fun Day for Oswego County youth in grades K-10 on Wednesday, November 21. The event begins with an early matinee movie at the Oswego Cinema on West Second Street and is followed by a dodgeball tournament at the Oswego Armory on West First Street.

The cost of the early matinee is $4 and you can choose to see one of the following movies: Fred Claus, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, Disney's Enchanted or the Bee Movie. Start times vary from 11:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and are subject to change. Call the Oswego Cinema at 343-6361 to check show times.

The child-friendly dodgeball tournament takes place after the movie and begins at 2 p.m. for those who wish to participate in the game only. Prizes will be given out at 4 p.m. following the tournament.

All children age 12 or under must be accompanied by an adult for the movie and the game will be chaperoned by members of the Oswego YMCA and the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.

Pre-registration is not required for the event, which is open to all Oswego County youths on a first-come, first-served basis. The reduced admission price of $4 will be given to the first 800 youths. Matinee tickets for adults and chaperones are $5.

Participants for the either the movie or the tournament are asked to bring a canned good to help support those in need this holiday season.
