Enjoy the Holiday Traditions in Oswego County
PARADE OF TREES – Visitors can choose their favorite from an array of Christmas trees, many decorated with antique holiday ornaments, at the 19th annual Parade of Trees at the John Wells Pratt House Museum, 177 S. First St., Fulton. The display is one of the many winter activities that are listed in the “Winter in Oswego County Calendar of Events,” produced by the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning.
OSWEGO – Oswego County will be bustling with activity this holiday season. Santa will arrive by fire engine in West Monroe Dec. 1 and by Coast Guard cutter in Oswego Dec. 9, as communities celebrate their unique holiday traditions.
More than 130 festivals, concerts and outdoor events are listed in “Winter in Oswego County Calendar of Events,” produced and distributed by the Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning, said David Turner, director.
Families can cut their own Christmas tree, take part in community caroling, and view charming displays of past Christmas traditions at many area museums. For those who love the outdoors, the brochure features information on winter fishing tournaments, dog sledding, ice skating rinks, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
The calendar covers events across Oswego County that take place between November and March. For a free copy, phone 349-8322 or stop by the office at the Oswego County Office Building, third floor, 46 E. Bridge St., Oswego.
