Holiday Events Celebrate Oswego's Colorful History Dec. 8 and 9
OSWEGO -- Two museums located in Oswego's Historic Maritime District are collaborating for a traditional Christmas celebration the weekend of Dec. 8 and 9.
The Port City's newest museum, the Oswego Railroad Museum at 56 W. First St., invites visitors to see toy train and Christmas tree displays Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
The railroad museum contains a layout of southern Oswego County during the 1950s, historic model train layouts, and an extensive railroad library. Admission is $1 for ages six to 12, and $2 for adults and children over 12. For information call 343-2347.
At the foot of West First Street, the H. Lee White Marine Museum will host its annual “Christmas at Sea” open house from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Santa will visit the museum via cutter from the Oswego Coast Guard Station to hear wishes of attending children. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
