Oswego County Workforce New York Hosts Training Forum
FULTON – Oswego County Workforce New York is hosting a Training Forum on Tuesday, Dec. 11 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Career Connection Center, 200 N. Second St. in Fulton.
“It is open to the public and serious job seekers are encouraged to attend,” said Judy McManus, senior employment specialist for the Oswego County Division of Employment and Training. “They will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from Oswego and Syracuse schools that focus on job training and technical education.”
Candidates can explore a variety of career programs in everything from nursing and small engine repair to tractor trailer certification to technology, business and specialized degrees.
The schools that are scheduled to attend include Oswego County BOCES, Onondaga-Cortland-Madison (OCM) BOCES, National Tractor Trailer School and ITT Technical Institute.
Oswego County Workforce New York operates the Career Connection Center as a resource library for individuals who are out of work and looking for employment. At the career center, job seekers can find help in resume and cover letter writing as well as job search techniques and practice interviews. They can obtain career counseling and use office equipment, such as computers, phones, faxes and copiers for job search activities. Qualified applicants can receive job training scholarships.
