Warm Up This Winter with Community Events!
OSWEGO COUNTY - Spice up your winter at the Warm Up Oswego Festival on Saturday, Feb. 2. Activities, food and music are scheduled from noon until midnight at the Oswego YMCA Armory on West First Street and throughout downtown Oswego.
There is something for the whole family to enjoy at this day-long event. Join in the Hot 2K Trot Fun Run and Walk, listen to the sounds of local musicians and view an art exhibition. Adults and teens compete in Crazy Costume Sled Races and there is a treasure hunt in the snow for children age 12 and younger.
Admission is free for the festival where you can enjoy a variety of crafts and exhibits, face painting and games, salsa dance lessons and a special preview of “I Do! I Do!” by the Port City Theatre. The Oswego Figure Skating Club hosts the Port City Figure Skating Invitational at the Crisafulli Rink at Fort Ontario and the day's festivities wrap up with a fireworks display over the Oswego River at 6 p.m.

The Warm Up Oswego Fiesta at the Econolodge on East First Street keeps the heat going from 7 p.m. to midnight with Caribbean-style food, live entertainment, raffles and contests. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Econolodge, C's Farm Market, Kraftees College Town, Midnight Sun and the Oswego YMCA. For more details or ticket information, call 315-343-1981.
For a cool burn, head over to the Ontario Center for Performing Arts on Lake Street where The Oswego Music Hall presents Kate Lee & No Strings Attached from 8 to 10 p.m. Admission is $10. After the show, bring your ticket stub to the Warm Up Fiesta at the Econolodge for $5 discount at entrance. For more information, call 342-1733.
Continue celebrating the winter season with several community events. On Saturday, Feb. 9, the Pratt House Museum on South First Street in Fulton hosts a Winter Warming Party from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served and reservations are requested. For details, call 315-598-4616.
The Snowblast takes over the W.J. Farley Community Park on Chestnut Street in Phoenix on Saturday, Feb. 9 from noon until 6 p.m. Admission is free for a day full of fun for the whole family. Enjoy sledding and snowboarding, a snow sculpture contest, refreshments, crafts and entertainment. For more information, call 315-695-2801.
On Saturday and Sunday, February 8 and 9, Hannibal Winterfest celebrates the season at Kenney School and the Hannibal Municipal Building. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, enjoy snow sculptures, softball in the snow and a craft show. From noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, join in a game of tug-of-war, the human dog sled race or novelty ski and snowshoe races. Admission is free for this family event and features food and exhibits.
