Camp Hollis Is Accepting Summer Camp Applications

It's not too early to begin thinking about summer camp! Applications are now available for Oswego County children ages 8 to 14 to attend Camp Hollis this summer. Camp Hollis offers a week-long summer residential camp experience complete with swimming, nature hikes, arts and crafts, games, campfires and many more activities.

Youth can register now for weekly sessions which begin July 7 and run through Aug. 15. There will also be a mini-camp July 2 and 3 to introduce eight-year-olds to an overnight summer camp experience. Families are invited to visit camp during one of the camp's open houses - Sunday, May 4 or June 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. to see camp and meet the staff.

This year, for the first time, parents can register their children for more than one week at a time. For more information and an application, call Camp Hollis at 349-3451 or 1-800-596-3200, ext. 3451. Applications are also available online at www.oswegocounty.com/youth/hollis.

Registration fees are on a sliding scale and are based on family income. Limited scholarships are also available through the fundraising effort of the Friends of Camp Hollis. Anyone wishing to support camper scholarships may contact Vicki Mather, president of the Friends group, at 343-8170.

Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. Located at 40 Health Camp Road, off Lakeshore Road in the Town of Oswego, the facility is also available April through October for use by families, clubs, school groups and other organizations.
