Oswego County EMSAC to honor excellence in emergency services
The exceptional efforts of Oswego County's Emergency Medical Services providers will be honored in May at the first ever awards banquet sponsored by the Oswego County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee.
“This event for EMS providers and those who support them will honor those who have shown excellence in their field,” said Zach Menter, a member of the EMSAC awards banquet committee and vice president of Oswego County Ambulance Service. “We wanted to showcase the best and thank them for providing outstanding care and dedication to the emergency medical services field and patient care.”
The banquet will be held Saturday, May 17, beginning at 5 p.m. at the American Foundry in Oswego. A fee of $10 is being charged to defray the costs of the banquet. Tickets are available by calling the Oswego County Emergency Management Office/Emergency Medical Services at 315/591-9150 or by e-mailing . The deadline for reservations is April 30.
A total of 15 awards will be presented, honoring EMS providers from the county's ambulance corps, hospital emergency departments, and E-911 Communications Center. Recipients were chosen by the EMSAC awards banquet committee based on nominations by colleagues in the field.
Premier sponsors include Oswego County Ambulance Service and Oswego Health. “We appreciate their support,” said Patricia Egan, director of the Oswego County Emergency Management Office/Emergency Medical Services, and member of the EMSAC awards committee.
Many other businesses are participating as awards sponsors or in other ways. Donations are still being accepted, and anyone interested may contact any of the committee members: Zach Menter, Oswego County Ambulance; Ellen Lafond, Oswego Hospital; or Pat Egan, Oswego County EMO/EMS.
