Medical Careers Training Fair Set for May 8
FULTON -- The One Stop Career Center in Fulton will host a medical careers training fair from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday May 8. The fair is open to anyone who is interested in training for jobs in the medical field.
Representatives from several area colleges and technical schools will be available to answer questions about training programs in nursing, medical assistant, dental assistant, and certified nursing assistant and related fields. The One Stop Career Center is located at the Oswego County Branch Office Building, 200 N. Second St., Fulton.
“The intent of this fair is to provide members of Lee Memorial Hospital, who may be losing their jobs, the opportunity to meet with local school representatives about medical training,” said Judy McManus, employment specialist for the Oswego County One Stop Career Center. “Although the employees do not know who will be retained at the hospital, they are being encouraged to be proactive and to take advantage of training opportunities.”
Representatives from Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES, Onondaga Community College, Crouse School of Nursing, Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES, Cayuga Community College, Bryant and Stratton College, and Oswego County BOCES will answer questions and provide information about training programs.
