Summer Jobs Are Available through Oswego County AmeriCorps
The Oswego County AmeriCorps program is currently accepting applications for summer positions.
Administered by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, Oswego County AmeriCorps provides out of school activities for youth in Oswego County. AmeriCorps members are paid while learning valuable skills and earning money for college.
“Members have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in our county,” said Kathleen Andolina, AmeriCorps program coordinator. “Across our country, AmeriCorps members assist their local community with education, environment, public safety and other human needs.”
Oswego County AmeriCorps is accepting applications for 300-hour summer positions. These positions will be at libraries, recreation programs, schools and human service agencies. Applicants must be at least 17 years old. There is no upper age limit.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED or be in the process of receiving one. Some of the sites are looking for applicants with additional experience or education.
Summer sites in Oswego County include Cleveland Elementary School, Fulton CYO, H. Lee White Marine Museum in Oswego, Harborfest, Oswego County Historical Society in Oswego, Phoenix Public Library, Pulaski Public Library, Safe Haven Museum in Oswego, Success-By-Six, Town of Parish Recreation and Town of Schroeppel Community Services.
For a 300-hour summer AmeriCorps position, members will receive a living allowance of $1,973 and an education award of $1,000 at the end of their term of service.
