County Launches Web Pages for Veterans and Highway Departments
Area residents can get information on Oswego County veterans services, road conditions and other county programs by accessing two new sections of the county government Web site at www.oswegocounty.com
The veterans section contains information about the services and assistance provided to area veterans and their families by the Oswego County Veterans Services Agency at 200 N. Second St., Fulton. It also contains a list of local businesses that offer discounts to military personnel, and information about local groups such as the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. The Internet address is www.oswegocounty.com/veterans/index.html.
The Highway Department section includes information on highway services, road closings, permit applications, and links to other transportation related sites. The Internet address is www.oswegocounty.com/highway/index.html.
“The new sections of the Web site are part of our ongoing effort to keep Oswego County residents informed of government programs and services,” said David Turner, Director of the County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning. “In addition to launching a brand new tourism site, www.visitoswegocounty.com, the public information staff recently added a section for the County Office for the Aging and re-designed the Board of Elections page on the county government site. We also post the daily sheriff's report, Legislature agendas and committee meetings, information about flu clinics, and many other services.”
