Oswego County Ban on Burning Expires
Oswego - Oswego County’s ban on open burning was allowed to expire Sunday after a soaking rain greatly reduced the threat of grass and brush fires.
“The heavy rainfall that we received on Sunday, and the continued precipitation that is forecast for the next several days, have greatly reduced the threat of grass and brush fires in Oswego County,” said Oswego County Legislature Chairman Barry Leemann. “There is no longer an imminent threat. Therefore, I allowed the ban on outdoor burning that began on March 24 to expire.”
Legislature Chairman Leemann thanked residents and the fire services for their cooperation and assistance.
