Volunteers Are Invited to Help Open Camp Hollis for the Season
OSWEGO -- Spring has arrived and Camp Hollis will open for its 64th season this year. Families, community members and volunteer groups can help prepare the camp for its many programs at cleanup events Tuesday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 37½-acre camp facility in the town of Oswego is owned by the County of Oswego and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.
Spring cleanup work includes cleaning the sleep away cabins, setting up playground equipment, cleaning the trails and beach, working on the camp's new baseball field and cleaning the gardens throughout the grounds.
People of all ages are welcome. Youth younger than 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants may come for all or part of the day. Pre-registration is not required. Events will be held rain or shine and participants should dress for the weather. Hot and cold beverages and snacks will be served throughout the day.
