Seconed Annual Banquet to Honor Emergency Medical Personnel

Oswego - The second annual Emergency Medical Services Awards Banquet sponsored by the Oswego County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council will be held Friday, May 15, at 5:30 p.m. at the American Foundry in Oswego. The deadline for reservations is Monday, May 4.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to honor the professionals who serve the community as emergency medical services providers in emergency care,” said EMSAC President James D. Jones. “Last year, we presented awards to more than 30 of these highly trained and compassionate people.”

The banquet is underwritten by sponsorships as a way to thank these professionals. “This is a way to say 'thank you' for all these people have done for us throughout the year,” said Margaret Beers, EMSAC Secretary and a member of the awards banquet committee. “The sponsorship money helps keep the cost down for the providers and their guests.”

2009 sponsorship levels are as follows:

  • Gold: $2,500 and above. Sponsors will see their business logo printed in the event program and will be able to bring eight guests for a reserved table.

  • Silver: $1,000 to $2,400. Sponsors will be named in the event program and will be able to bring eight guests for a reserved table.

  • Bronze: up to $1,000. Sponsors will be named in the event program.

  • Award Sponsors: $100. Sponsors will be named in the event program with the award recipient.

  • Door prizes, gift baskets, or gift certificates of any kind. Donors will be named in the event program.

Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor may talk with one of the EMSAC Awards Banquet Committee members: Zach Menter, Oswego County Ambulance Service/Menter's; Margaret Beers, Oswego Health; Damen Morrell, Oswego City Fire Department; and Patricia Egan and Terry Bennett, Oswego County Emergency Management Office/Emergency Medical Services.

The public is encouraged to attend the May 15 banquet to show their support for emergency medical services. The cost is $10, and tickets must be reserved by May 4 by calling Oswego County EMO/EMS at 315/591-9150.
