Oswego County Ambassador Workshop Is Thursday in Oswego
The word “ambassador” is defined as “an authorized representative or messenger” such as an “ambassador of good will.” The Oswego County Legislature is sponsoring an Oswego County Ambassador program for residents who would like to share information about the county when they are out and about in their travels.
The informal program is free and open to the public. It includes presentations about economic development opportunities, tourism and recreational attractions, agriculture, and educational programs in Oswego County. All participants will be entered into drawings for door prizes, including a $500 non-transferable travel voucher donated by Canalview Travel in Fulton.
Programs will be held:
“Oswego County is a great place to live, do business, and raise a family,” said Legislator Louella LeClair, vice chairwoman of the Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee. “We have much to be proud of, and many programs that enhance our quality of life. Our residents can help to generate business and economic development, and promote the county when they’re out traveling, if they are more aware of these assets.”
The staff of Operation Oswego County, Inc., Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County, and the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning will present information about their programs and services.
The Oswego County Ambassador Program is sponsored by the Oswego County Legislature, Canalview Travel, Alliance Bank, Abbott’s Lake Country Studio, R.J.’s Irish Wigwam, the Castaways, Tavern on the Lock, Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Resort, County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning, Operation Oswego County, Inc., Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County, Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, Pulaski-Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, Fort Brewerton - Greater Oneida Lake Chamber of Commerce, Greater Mexico Chamber of Commerce, and Holst Well Drilling.
