Take a Chance for Youth at May 29 'Casino Night'
The Oswego YMCA and the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau present Casino Night on Friday, May 29 at the Oswego Armory on West First Street in Oswego. Registration begins at 6 p.m.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age to play games of chance, including black jack and chuck-a-luck. Each player receives $500 in chips to use at the gaming tables. At the end of play, any remaining chips will be used in a live auction featuring a variety of items donated by local businesses.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Thursday night youth activities this summer at the Oswego YMCA during the Oswego Farmers' Market.
“I encourage community members to come to this event to support our local kids and create a positive environment for our youth,” said Mike Lavner, director of the Oswego YMCA City Youth Center and member of the planning committee.
Supervised childcare for those in kindergarten through grade 6 is provided by the Oswego YMCA staff at no charge. It includes food, drinks and activities. Advanced registration is required for this service.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register at the Oswego YMCA with a $20 donation. Registration at the door will be accepted with a $25 donation. They are also asked to bring a non-perishable food item which will be donated to a local food pantry.
