Oswego County Residents Can Still Make Appointments for H1N1 Flu Vaccine

OSWEGO - The Oswego County Health Department advises people in the H1N1 priority groups who havenít received their flu vaccine to contact the health department to make arrangements to receive the vaccine.

The health department is working with several local school districts and will conduct school-based clinics for Fulton and Oswego students during the month of December. The department will continue to work with other districts to make H1N1 vaccine available to students.

The vaccine is available to residents in the following priority groups:

  • Women who are pregnant;
  • Household contacts and caregivers of children less than 6 months of age;
  • Children and young adults ages three to 24 years old;
  • Health care workers and EMS providers;
  • People ages 25 to 64 who have a chronic underlying medical condition.

To make an appointment for the H1N1 flu vaccine, Oswego County residents should call the health department between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 349-3547 or 1-800-596-3200, ext. 3547. There is no charge for the H1N1 vaccine.
