Oswego County Honors Photo Contest Winners

OSWEGO COUNTY - The Oswego County Promotion and Tourism Office recently held a reception to honor the winners of the Oswego County Fishing and Hunting Guide Photo Contest. As recipients and guests mingled over coffee and desserts, they had a chance to view a display of their winning photographs.
The 17 honorees received certificates and prizes for their winning entries. The awards included a gun cleaning kit, a set of four inflatable life jackets, a guided turkey hunt, two guided river fishing trips, two guided drift boat fishing trips on the Salmon River, and six guided charter boat fishing trips on Lake Ontario.
Certificates were presented by legislators Morris Sorbello and Shawn Doyle, vice chairman and member of the Oswego County Legislature's Community Development, Tourism and Planning Committee. Jessica Burt, public information officer in the Oswego County Community Development, Tourism and Planning Department, distributed the prizes to the winners.
The winners were: Morgan Ingram (Best in Show); Ashleigh Krebs (Youth Fishing); Dawn Rucando (Youth Fishing); Captain Ed Monette (Lake Fishing); Tom Basciani (River Fishing); Beth Clark and John Beck (River Fishing); Tony Gulisano (River Fishing); Cora Miligy (Ice Fishing); Jim Erlwein (Pond Fishing); Paul Conklin (Scenic Fishing); Janet Rebeor-Dexter (Scenic Fishing); Andrea LaRue (Youth Hunting); Tammy Miller and Jay Stuckey (Turkey Hunting); Shawn Griffith (Deer Hunting); Randy Poyneer (Waterfowl Hunting); Robert Clark (Scenic Wildlife); and Scott Parkhurst (Fishing Safety).

The Oswego County Community Development, Tourism and Planning Department will provide four free advertising spaces on the tourism Web site to river guides and charter captains who submitted winning photographs. Refreshments for the reception were donated by members of the tourism staff.
Thirty people submitted nearly 90 photos to the contest. The winners will all appear in the new Oswego County Fishing and Hunting Guide due out in early 2012. Approximately 80,000 guides will be printed and distributed at trade shows and to individuals throughout the Northeast, greater U.S. and Canada.
