Anchors Away for an Encore Titanic Presentation
The first presentation of George DeMass, chaplain of the Titanic Historical Society, was so well-received that the H. Lee White Marine Museum will offer another discussion and extend its temporary exhibit, "Titanic: Commemorating the 100th Anniversary" until Wednesday, November 30. The second discussion takes place this weekend on Sunday, November 13 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The museum will offer a special admission price of $5 for adults and $3 for children for this fascinating exhibit and presentation. These events are part of a series of activities and programs leading up to the museum's premier fund-raising gala event, "A Titanic Affair," which will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the American Foundry in Oswego. Pictured is a piece of the exhibit, a painting of the Titanic by artist Russell Porter titled, "Leaving the Coast of France, April 10, 1912, 9:30 p.m." (1975). It is on display courtesy of the artist's son Robert Porter of Auburn, New York. Seating is limited; please call the museum at 315/342-0480 to make reservations or to learn more about upcoming Titanic events.
