Public Invited to Offer Comment on Public Access Sites
OSWEGO COUNTY - Oswego County, working in cooperation with the towns of Hastings and Scriba, received a grant to conduct an inventory and analysis of public access sites along the Oswego and Oneida River corridors. The project will also include an examination of sites along the shorelines of Lake Ontario and Oneida Lake within Oswego County.
"The final report of this inventory survey process will serve as a valuable tool for communities within the study areas," said David Turner, director of the Oswego County Office of Community Development, Tourism and Planning. "They can use it in their efforts to seek funding assistance for the completion of a variety of projects that will be identified in the report."
Oswego County is working with the staff of Barton & Loguidice, P.C. to complete the first stages of this project.
The public is invited to participate in a discussion of these studies and offer comments about these or other public access sites in the referenced waterfront areas.
The first public comment session will be Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Hastings Town Hall, 1134 US Route 11, Central Square. This meeting will focus on the Oneida Lake shoreline within Oswego County, the Oneida River, and the Oswego River south of the Minetto Bridge.
The second meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Scriba Municipal Building, 42 Creamery Road. The focus of this meeting will be waterfront sites on Lake Ontario within Oswego County and any on the Oswego River north of the Minetto Bridge.
