FULTON - The Oswego County Workforce New York office will sponsor a panel discussion of local employers at the new Cayuga Community College campus, 11 River Glen Plaza, Fulton from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 7. The event is free and open to the public.
The forum will provide an opportunity for job seekers to learn what current job opportunities are available locally, as well as the qualities employers are looking for from applicants.
"Employers will also share general information on how to prepare for employment, what credentials and skills are needed for these positions, and common mistakes that applicants make that may screen them out of the employment process," said Christine Weaver, Coordinator of Client Services for the Oswego County Workforce New York office.
Representatives from Huhtamaki, Novelis, The Fulton Companies, Healthway Home Products, Oswego Health, Constellation, Little Luke's/Rehab Resources, PaperWorks, and Ron Terra Insurance are scheduled to attend.
"Our hope is that job seekers will use this information to better prepare themselves prior to the application process- whether through skills upgrade, interview prep, or other areas important to local employers," said Weaver.
Job seekers are encouraged to reserve a seat as a large audience is expected. Advanced reservations can be made by calling the Oswego County Workforce New York office at 315-591-9000.
