OSWEGO - The Oswego County Health Department will hold its 23rd annual best tasting drinking water contest Thursday, June 13, at the Oswego Farmers' Market on West First Street.
Visitors will vote for their favorite samples of drinking water from municipal systems in Oswego County. All municipal water supplies are eligible to enter the contest, which is coordinated by the health department's environmental division.
"The contest is a friendly competition to remind people of the importance of protecting our water resources in Oswego County and across New York State," said Natalie Roy, associate public health sanitarian for the Oswego County Health Department. "The winner of the Oswego County competition will advance to the Syracuse regional contest in June, and regional winners will compete for the state title at the State Fair in August."
When all the votes were counted last year, the village of Pulaski won the contest, with the City of Oswego and Village of Mexico tied for second place.
For information on the drinking water contest, call the Health Department at 315-349-3557 or 1-800-596-3200, ext. 3557.
